William "Bill" Batzer
1961 - 2016

Bill Batzer, 55, of O’Fallon, Missouri passed away on Sunday, December 4th, 2016 at Siteman Cancer Center in St. Louis, Missouri. He was born in East Chicago, Indiana on January 6th, 1961 to David and Anne Batzer. Bill was a graduate of St. Charles West High School and worked as a machinist at Planet Tool & Engineering.

Bill met the love of his life, Julia Batzer in 1983 at her high school prom, and they were married in the spring of 1986. They have two beloved children, Joseph and Clara Batzer. Bill loved playing and watching ice hockey, brewing beer, tinkering with electronics, and listening to music. He was known for his sense of humor, love of puns, and quick wit. Bill was a master in what he deemed ‘the creative use of hearing loss.’ He was a treasured son, husband, father, brother, and uncle.

Bill is survived by his loving wife Julia Batzer (nee Fortmann) of O’Fallon, MO; his son Joseph Batzer and his wife Erin of Cincinnati, OH; his daughter Clara Batzer (Colton McCall) of Sedalia, MO; his mother Anne Batzer (nee Salovic) of St. Charles, MO; his brothers John (Barbara) Batzer, Steven Batzer, Bob (JoAnn) Batzer; his sister Gail Batzer (Charles Stallmann); and many cherished nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father David Batzer and his sister-in-law Tina Batzer (nee Grass).

A memorial service will be held 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 9th, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376.
