Norman Lowell Neier, age 77, of Saint Charles, Missouri passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2017 in Saint Charles, Missouri. He was born in Gary, Indiana on August 20, 1939 to Chester and Gertrude Neier (nee Lamphier). Norman graduated from Chesterton High School, Chesterton, Indiana, then began his career in the Navy, and retiring as an AKC E-7 after having served 22 years, with 9 1/2 years abroad or on Aircraft Carriers. He was a five-time recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Navy Unit Commendation Medal for Active battle aboard the USS Ranger, National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Star, and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with device in 1960. While still in the Navy, Norman completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at La Verne College, and later received his Master's in Public Administration from Webster University. Following his Naval Career, Norman went to work for McDonnell Douglas, which later merged with Boeing,retiring as a Field Service Manager at Boeing after 25 years of service. Some of his favorite pastimes were fishing, bowling, genealogy, motorcycles, gardening, woodworking and above all else, spoiling the grandkids. Norman married the former Juanita Reyllo on October 4, 1974 in the Philippines.

Survivors include his Wife, Juanita "Janet" Neier of Saint Charles, Missouri; a Son, Marc (Dana) Neier of Florissant, Missouri; Daughters, Eleanor N. (Rich) Carter of St. Paul, Missouri and Michelle Dennis of Stuart, Nebraska, and step-daughter Katherine Bonham of St. Charles, Missouri. His grandchildren, Brittney Westhoff of St. Louis, Lauren and Caitlin Dennis of Florida and Matthew and Ryan Carter of St. Paul, Missouri; and a brother Chester (Roxanna) Neier of Arizona.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother Bill Neier.

A Gathering in Celebration of Norman's life will be from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376.

Interment with full military honors was held prior at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, Jefferson Barracks, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions suggested to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society or the Fisher House.
