Jed Harvey Klingensmith, Age 81, went to be with the Lord on May 23, 2017.
Born in New Castle, PA, Jed was the son of the late Muriel and Abe Klingensmith.

Jed was privileged to have served in the United States Air Force for thirty years (1957 to 1987.) He was a Master Navigator and retired as a full Colonel. During his distinguished career he was honored with the Purple Heart, Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal (4 oak leaf clusters) and the Meritorious Service Medal (2 oak leaf clusters) as well as other awards. After leaving the Air Force Jed continued his career with Hughes Aircraft-Raytheon where he served as a manager in the Radar Systems group for 12 years. He is a lifetime member of the Penn State Alumni Association, the Air Force Association and Officers Association.

Jed’s passions included supporting Penn State University, playing golf, woodworking, fishing, watching college football and helping others.

In addition to his parents, Jed was preceded in death by his loving wife Vena, step father Roger Brown and his sister Linda Loken.

Survivors include his two sons Trent Klingensmith and wife Leah of Franklin, TN, and Trace Klingensmith and wife Cheryl of O’Fallon, MO: Four grandchildren Robin, Kelsy, Brett, Kody.

The Family requests that memorial donations be made to the Vietnam Veterans Association, Cancer Research and/ or your local Junior Achievement branch.
