James Lee “Jack” Ponder passed away Monday, October 29, 2018 in St Charles, MO. He was born September 28, 1930 in Van Buren, MO the son of Robert and Grace Ponder.
Jack was a devoted husband, dad, grandpa and friend. He worked as a janitor for Clayton School District from 1955-1985.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Danny Ponder, a grandson Clayton, three sisters: Louise Genavine McDonald, Lucy Shockley and Josie Phillips, and a brother Robert Linden Ponder. Jack is survived by his wife of 64 years Nola Ponder, sons: Ronald Ponder (Tracey), and Michael Ponder, a daughter Tina Ponder, two brothers: Carl and Ken Ponder, a daughter-in-law Jenna Ponder, grandchildren: Jacob, Kim, Diana (Justin), Devin (Amy), Miranda and Curtis, great-grandchildren: Justin, Saya, Savannah, Shelby (Stephen) and Daniel, and a special family friend for Life Ed Ward.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 4, 2018 from 3:00 ~ 7:00 PM at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals-Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Dr. St Peters, MO, 63376. Funeral service will be Monday, November 5, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery St Charles, MO.
