In Memory Of
Derek A Jayne
1960 - 2019

Derek Andrew Jayne, age 58, of Saint Peters, Missouri passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2019 in Saint Peters, MO. He was born in Moberly, Missouri on August 2, 1960 to Howard and Zelda Jayne (nee Morris).

Derek grew up in Kirkwood, graduated from Kirkwood High, and then began a long career in the automotive industry. He's been a Service Adviser with Johnny Londoff Chevrolet for the last ten years and was previously with Merollis Chevrolet and the Dean Team. He was the fifth of six children born to Howard and Zelda Jayne (both deceased) of Kirkwood. We counted on him for help with our cars for most of our adult lives. He was always ready to help work through any issue we were having and offered sage advice to address them. Derek married Laura Pritchett while they were both very young and they had three boys, Chris, Dustin, and Brandon. That marriage lasted twelve years or so and we've all remained close to the Pritchett family. He rebounded after a couple years and married Peggy Huber Cobb, who had three kids of her own, Christina, Tim, and Kim. They had another together, Nicholas, and the family was complete. These seven children have given Derek and Peggy twelve grandchildren that brought them great joy, and there is another on the way! Derek, his brothers and his sons are avid deer hunters and he will be greatly missed on our annual hunting trips to Forest Green, Missouri. We've been hunting together for more than 45 years now. Our friends and hosts, the Thomas family will also miss Derek. We will of course continue to have meatloaf night in his honor, as it was his favorite meal of the week. His brothers and sisters, sons and daughters, nieces and nephews, and grandkids will all miss his caring smile and laughter.

Derek is survived by his Wife, Peggy A. Jayne; Children, Christopher Jayne, Christina (Ben) Macormic, Dustin (Christina) Jayne, Timothy (Erin) Cobb, Kimberly (Nick) Gore, Brandon (Elizabeth) Jayne and Nicholas Jayne; Grandchildren, Jacob Macormic, Jessica Macormic, Jeremiah Macormic, Joshua Macormic, Jennifer Macormic, Anna Fey, Amy Fey, Aliyah Cobb, Kendall Jayne, Laila Jayne, Tucker Jayne and Madelyn Cobb; Siblings, Deborah (Ray) Cooksey, H Daniel Jayne, Denise (Dan) Drummond, David (Ruth) Jayne and Dori Massey; and a many of other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard (Zelda) Jayne;

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376. Funeral Ceremony will be 1:00 pm Friday, July 19, 2019. Burial will immediately follow at St Johns Cemetery Association in Collinsville, IL.
