Our daughters, Caitlyn and Mikayla knew Stephon and shared their fond memories of him this week. Please accept our families heartfelt condolensces for this tragic loss. He had an infectious smile, and touched many lives for good. Stephon's decision to acknowledge Christ as his Savior gives us all hope that we will see him again.

Stephon dated my daughter Sarah, I will always remember his smile, kindness, goofiness, bow ties and his love of God. He was always thinking of others and how to make them happy. He was an angel on earth and we were honored to know him.. Our prayers and sympathy to his entire family he will truly be missed. Suzanne Kelch

I used to work with Stephon at St. Charles Parks. He made everyday seem like a good day, it seems surreal to not have him here. I loved hearing his stories about college and all the fun and the stress and the "dumb" people he was surrounded by. I will never forget the day that he called me brother. Not only was it an honor to know him, it was beyond all privileges to be as close to him as I was. I send my deepest condolences to the entire Abron family and to all those that knew him. Every life he touched changed forever, especially mine. Rest in peace, brother.

Stephon was always the person that will smile at you or hug you when he saw you. He was a little bit of sunshine on a cloudy day. He was passionate in everything he did. I’ll never forget him talking in high school about how he had a new job what seemed like every week. But, that’s who he was. He couldn’t stay in one spot for long and was so indecisive. I’ll cherish the nights we spent in Grandma Becky’s driveway catching fireflies, riding bikes, or just sitting and talking. He was one of my first friends and I was so blessed to have that continue on through high school. Rest In Peace Stephon. Run your heart out. Sing to your heart’s content. Bring a little light to everyone you’ve touched. And don’t forget to keep smiling.

I remember Stefon back when he was in my Sunday school class, even as a very young man he always seemed to want to do things for others. I know he only lived 20 short years but he squeezed a lot of wonderful good deeds for others and stayed true to his faith in Jesus. He will be missed!! What will they say about us when it’s our time? Humbly submitted, mrs Rochelle Williams

You will never be forgotten. We will always have you in our heart and mind till we see you again in heaven with Jesus. You made our life happy and you were always doing good in the Lords work . People from young to old love you because you cared for people. Run that heavenly race in Heaven. March in the marching band and sing to the Lord. We will see you someday and we will cheer you on.I will bring my baton and march in that band with you. We love you forever. Love from Grandma & Grandpa

Stephon I considered one of my closest friends I adored his personality and his kindness. He was the first one in the aviation department to go out of his way to be my friend and consistently went out of his way to sit by me and talk to me through the year and a half we shared together. I am so greatful to have been able to share the time I did with him.

Stephon was a light of joy in my families life. We met through Lifeguarding and he went on to teach my little sisters how to swim. A memory that sticks in my mind is his overall kindness, he never failed to put a smile on my face, even when having a bad day. You will be missed so much Stephon.

What can I say about Stephon that so many people have not already said? Of my recollection of him, Stephon was one of the most lovely people I have ever been privileged to encounter. Right from the off, I knew we would be friends. He was not much older than my own child, so I took to him quite easily. He had such an electric personality and a smile and disposition that most of us couldn't help but love. As often as he was in the T.R. Gaines building, it was his practice to come and greet me. I grew to look forward to seeing him. When he left my office, my day seemed lighter. I know that was because he and other young ones like him were in it. He lite us all up with his sweet spirit. I do truly feel a great void at his absence. I don't have the words to express to his family and friends how much he meant to me and how terribly I will miss him. You are each in my thoughts and in my prayers. Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow, praise Him all creatures here below. Praise Him above ye Heavenly hosts. Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

Stephon was one of my special aviation students at UCM, he always lit up the room when he walked in. I told him he always looked so dapper with his fancy bowties! He was always positive, full of joy, and so much passion. We had many conversations about his potential direction and goals - but the love he had for flying was always evident. He said one of the best feelings in life he ever experienced was the first time he left earth bound for the sky. He brought so much energy to UCM Aviation, and has left a wonderful legacy of what it is to have a hard work ethic, the upmost professionalism, and a driving passion. The biggest honor was having him touch my own life with his zeal for living every day to the fullest. I will never forget this young man and the lessons he brought to us. I am so saddened by the loss, and I pray for everyone whose life he impacted. Keep flying High, Stephon.

I was devastated to hear of the loss of Stephon. I remember the times he spent with our family fondly. Praying for comfort for you all! Fly with Jesus, Stephon!

So thankful for all the river walk memories, your energy never failed to put a smile on everyone’s faces, even at 8 a.m. Your positive (and sometimes sassy) attitude will be dearly missed around the pools this upcoming summer. My condolences to your family and I wish nothing but the best for them in these harsh times. You will always be missed and loved Stephon, fly high in heaven.
All my love,
~ Madi Steinhoff - November 7, 2019
Stephon was a bright and kind soul. There wasn’t a stranger he wouldn’t talk to. He loved his school, his athletic and activity teams and life. He was such a vital part of SCHS and we will miss him dearly. God had a bigger plan for you and I pray for your family to find comfort in knowing how many people loved your son. He was a good man.

I recently had the chance to meet Stephon at the golf course in Warrensburg, Missouri. What a kind young man. With my deepest sympathy, may you find comfort in the special memories you shared.
~ Rhonda Petty - November 7, 2019
Stephon had to be one of my favorite Sunday school students. He would wear me down with question after question from the Bible stories. I loved him for that. If I didn’t know the answer to one of many questions I made sure that I got back to him with an answer before church service was over that day. I will always remember his funny dance moves and his beautiful beautiful smile. I love you Stephon??
~ Rev. Lisa Singleton-Foster - November 7, 2019
Well, Stephon was one of my first friends at FBC St. Charles. Every time I saw him, my mind was put at ease and my heart felt lighter. His smile literally lit up an entire room. When I was in high school, during the marching band season, our school went up against his. We teased each other, saying "oh, we're gonna beat you." But it was all in good fun. We laughed a lot together. This world has lost a bright star and great Christian. May he be happy, knowing he is with the Lord.
~ Caitlyn Hammonds - November 7, 2019
When I was a first year life guard Stephon was not hesitant to include me. He always knew how to put a smile on anyone’s face. He had such a beautiful soul. He always kept me updated on the drama and new gossip. I am so grateful to have been part of his life and I’m so honored that he became a part of mine. He has touched many and God wanted him closer to his side in heaven. My heart goes out to his whole family and everyone who I know has been effected by his passing.

Stephon and I have been friends since freshman year of high school. There are countless memories to share from the first night we hung out to dances we attended. Steph was always a joy to be around. He always knew how to make any situation better. One memory I would like to share is one day he comes over asking if we can make pancakes. Of course I was like “sure, why not. I love pancakes” but the plot twist is he wanted to make chocolate homemade pancakes. They turned out awful but it has been a story we have laughed about every since. My thoughts and prayers go out to Stephons family, I am so sorry for your loss. Steph will be greatly missed by everyone who has had the privilege of meeting him.
~ Audrey Brauch - November 6, 2019
When I think of Stephon, I think of him with the biggest grin on his face. Big enough to be seen miles away. We worked at the pools together, and we were in marching band and jazz band together, meaning I saw him everyday multiple times a day for years. Those times hold a special place in my heart meaning anyone involved automatically holds a special place in my heart. He especially left a mark, he was always there when you needed him, and always uplifted people the best he could. He was goofy, crazy, and all around just a fun person to be around. He will be greatly missed by many people.

Being close to this family because Aleisha was my best friend, she was always bragging on her nephew, how smart and handsome he was. Zack was the athlete of our generation, showing his son the ropes even as a baby boy, I personally had the opportunity to see Stephon grow from Ms. Linda and Cornelius' grandson that had everything a kid could imagine into an intelligent and inspiring young man who earned his accolades and respect by doing his best, and keeping God head of his life. The bible says to train up a child in the way he should go, and he will not part from it. I am proud to say I had the chance to see where he came from. Although we are deeply saddened by this loss, there will always be memories that we will hold onto forever because Stephon put a lasting impression on all of those who came into his path. Keeping all of you in my deepest prayers, Love yall.

I first met Stephon two years ago working at the pools. He was the first person to welcome me. We grew to become very close friends. Every single night our friends would go to his grandparents house and we would order food and watch movies. He was a very happy man. He literally gave me the shirt off his back. He was spunky, energetic, friendly, and brave. I will miss Stephon to no end. He was holding a bright future ahead of him. I believe he will carry it on to where he is now. God bless Stephon’s family. I am keeping you in my prayers.
