Katherine M. Boland, age 79, of Saint Peters, Missouri passed away on Monday, November 18, 2019 in Maryland Heights, Missouri. She was born in Saint Louis, Missouri on June 18, 1940 to Elmer and Laura Gschwender (nee Clarque).

Katherine was married to Emery Boland for 54 years. One of her favorite things to do was to play with her grandchildren. She loved to root on the St. Louis Cardinals. She enjoyed playing cards with her card party every month. She loved to play on a bowling league with her family and friends for many years. Katherine always made sure to have decorations up for every holiday.

Katherine is survived by her husband, Emery R. Boland; daughter, Janet M. Torpea; grandchildren, Donnie Rogers, Harley A. Torpea, and Anthony R. Torpea; and brother, Tony (Denise) Gschwender. She will be greatly missed by many other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Elmer Gschwender; mother, Laura Gschwender; and daughter, Laura T. Rogers.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376 (636-875-1200). A funeral ceremony will immediately follow at 12:00 pm. Interment will take place at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at St John Cemetery, 2550 Maryville Rd, Granite City, IL 62040.
