Muriel Haedike, age 91, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 in Saint Peters, Missouri.
Muriel is survived by her Husband of 73 years, Paul Haedike, children, Michael Haedike, Patricia (Kenneth) Freeman, Deborah (Joseph) Mayer, Sandra Byrd and David (Christy) Haedike. Grandchildren, Dawn (Rob) Davis, Amy (Jon) Pipho, Aaron (Claire) Haedike, Lisa (Rusty) Parks, Matthew (Tonia) Freeman, Donovan Freeman, Breanna (Derek) Kadlac, Joanna Haedike, Jennifer (Dave) Chucka, Joey (Bree) Mayer, Leah Byrd, David (Reka) Byrd, Jerome Byrd, Jordan (Connor Stark) Haedike, Caleb Haedike, Hannah Haedike, great grandchildren, Robbie Davis, Rhiannon Davis, Ambria Pipho, Jacob Pipho, Jackson Pipho, Nathan Haedike, Ethan Haedike, Reilly Parks, Katy Parks, Charlotte Parks, Taylor Freeman, Marcus Freeman, Zoey Freeman, Madeline Kadlac, Emerson Kadlac, Owen Kadlac, Ryder Small, Aubrey Haedike, Zachary Chucka, Vivien Mayer, Eriq Byrd, Bryson Byrd, Baylor Byrd, Oliver Stark, great-great grandchild, Emari Byrd, Sister, Joyce (Tom) Plinke and many other nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her Daughter, Kathleen Haedike; Four Grandchildren, Krista Mayer, Nikki Mayer, Jessica Mayer and Jaimee Haedike.
Muriel was involved in several organizations and held many positions over the years. She was involved in the Campfire Girls as a District Chairman and Group Leader. She served as a Sunday School Teacher for many years. Muriel was active in the Christian Women's Club and served as the Decorating Chairman and Book Chairman. She helped form her local Red Hat Ladies Chapter and was affectionately known as the "Queen Mother".
Muriel's extreme love of music was evidenced through her involvement in many musical endeavors by singing in the choir for multiple years and harmonizing whenever she had the opportunity. She was a school room mother. Muriel found much joy in arts and crafts, scrap booking, painting, gardening and reading mysteries. She loved to play scrabble and other board games with her family. Muriel loved animals and babies. She was the "go-to mom" for her children and their friends and she loved all without hesitation. She regularly taught about the importance of faith and a personal relationship with God. Most of all she was a devoted and cherished companion and wife and loved to dance the jitterbug with her husband Bud. Muriel will always be remembered for being young at heart and her love of life.
The family will receive friends Saturday, June 27, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church of Harvester. A private inurnment will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in her memory.
