Matthew Wayne Lund

Matthew Wayne Lund, age 36, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2020. He was born in Saint Charles, Missouri on February 16, 1984 to Kevin and Michel Lund (nee Grolemund).

Matthew was very artistic from an early age. He enjoyed graffiti art and airbrushing. He painted the Spanish room wall his senior year at Wright City High School. Matthew was a self-taught tattoo artist, and many friends and family members proudly display his artwork, which he was well known for doing free handed. He enjoyed the outdoors. From an early age, Matthew enjoyed hunting and fishing with his maternal grandfather and his father.

In his later years, he spent many late nights fishing at a lake, that he lived on with his mother. Matthew was an animal lover, had a huge heart of gold and an infectious laugh that could get you out of the worst of mood. Matthew lived with his sister, Kristin, for a time. They have been extremely close, and Matthew loved her boys as his own. Holidays were always meaningful to Matthew and last year was very special as he had found the love of his life. They enjoyed Christmas and family gatherings together.

Matt's family would like to share he was a struggling addict and ask that anyone struggling seek help. Matthew will be so loved and missed by all who's lives he touched with his huge heart, warm smile, willingness to help his fellow man and that infectious laugh.

Matthew is survived by his parents, Kevin W. (Jeannie) Lund and Michel A. Cohen; his sister, Kristin N. (Travis Sievers) Lund; his step-siblings, Judy A. (Carl) Schulz, Jessica M. Barbier, and John C. (Meredith) Edwards; his nieces and nephews, Emma S. Barbier, Evan A. Barbier, Baylor Clark, Blaise M. Rueve, and Barrett W. Sievers; his fiancée, Heather Bray; his paternal grandparents, Gene and Grace Lund, and his maternal grandfather, Terry Kruel. He will be greatly missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Emma Kruel; and his maternal uncle, Ron Grolemund.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376. Interment will be private.
