Peggy graduated in 1953 from Rosati-Kane High School. She spent most of her adult life has a homemaker with the exception of the time when she was working for the Emmaus Home is St. Charles.
Peggy was a strong advocate of the Catholic faith as was evident as she said the Rosary almost daily. She is a pass volunteer for the St. Joachim and Ann Care Service as the organization began their startup in 1981 with her husband Richard, and she was a former member of JASSS Club. She adored watching her grandchildren as often as she could; one of the true highlights in her lifetime.
Margaret “Peggy” (Humphreys) Smith is survived by children: Stephen of St. Peters, Missouri; John (Kelly) of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Mary of St. Peters, Missouri; Joseph (Kimberley) of St. Charles, Missouri; grandchildren: Julianna (Nicholas) of St. Peters, Missouri; Jessica (Michael) of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Anthony of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and Benjamin of St. Charles, Missouri; great-granddaughter: Faith of Council Bluffs, Iowa; siblings: Mary (late LeRoy) of Florissant, Missouri; Katie (late Richard) of Rocky Mount, Missouri; and the late James (late Virginia) of Bridgeton, Missouri. Peggy is also survived by her sisters-in-law: Mary Louise (late James) of Canfield, Ohio; Ruth (late Robert) of Boardman, Ohio; and Loretta Smith of Canfield, Ohio.
The family will receive guests on Tuesday December 1, 2020 at 9am for a visitation. Followed by a Funeral Mass at 10am at St. Joachim and Ann Catholic Church, 4112 McClay Rd, St Charles, MO 63304. Mass will be located at the gymnasium, due to construction in the main building. A Christian Burial to follow at Our Lady Catholic Cemetery in Lake St. Louis.
