In Memory Of
Karen Lynn Busch
1956 - 2021

Karen Lynn Busch, age 64, of O'Fallon, Missouri passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, May 18, 2021.
She was born in St. Louis, Missouri on December 16, 1956 to Roy and Loretta Duncan (nee Kadlec).

Karen was married to her soul mate, Tom, for 45 amazing years. She was so proud of the three children they brought into the world together. They loved to do everything together. From traveling to their favorite beach in Mexico to hanging out at home with their kids and grandkids.

Karen was a kind, gentle-hearted woman whose compassion for animals knew no bounds. She helped save many dogs through her work at SOAR. She fostered numerous dogs and helped mentor all the fosters for the rescue group. Even when she was getting bit by a dog, she was more concerned about the animal's well being more than her own, wanting to figure out why it was biting her so she could help it.
She touched the heart of so many people through her intense love for animals. She was happiest when she was helping animals, from orphaned wild rabbit babies, baby squirrels, or kittens and puppies that needed to be bottle fed, to animals being rescued from abusive or neglectful owners.

Her love for animals was only rivaled by her love for her family and friends. She was also blessed with so many loving friends who helped her through rough times and laughed with her during good times. Karen was a friend to so many, the animal world has lost a valiant defender, but the animal world will never forget her impact.

Karen is survived by her Daughter, Danielle (Sean) Sweeney, Daughter, Jamie (Justin) Swier, Son, John B. (Lindsay) Busch, Bonus Daughter, Christina Sloan, Grandson, Austin Busch, Granddaughter, Abigail Sweeney, Granddaughter, Madison Swier, Grandson, Tyler Swier, Granddaughter, Alice Busch, Mother, Loretta Duncan, Brother, Jim Duncan, Brother, Joe Duncan and she will be dearly missed by a host of other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her Husband, John Thomas Busch; Granddaughter, McKinley Swier; Father, Roy Duncan; and Brother, John Duncan.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
