He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on October 25, 1942 to Albert and Ella Bateman (nee Lindwedel).
Al was married to Judy Bateman for 55 cherished years.
He belonged to the St. Peters Lions Club and was a member since 1984. Al was a Union Iron Worker at Local 396 and a US Navy veteran. Al also was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in St. Peters. Al enjoyed fishing, restoring antique British cars, and artwork.
He had many trusted friends but most of all he loved spending time with his family and his beloved dog Henry.
Al is survived by his Wife, Judy Bateman, Sister, Doris (Eugene dec) Milner, Brother, Thomas C (Betty) Bateman, Son, Michael A (Cheryl) Bateman, Son, Jeffrey S Bateman, Son, Christopher P (Jennifer) Bateman, Son, Andrew J (Tobi) Bateman, Son, Nicholas T (Natasha) Bateman, 13 Grandchildren, Tyler , Jessica, Matthew, Dylan, Ryan, Zachary, Caleb, Landon, Savannah, Luke, Jacob, Noah, Aiden, Friend, Ron Krisch, Friend, Norb Lehman, and he will be dearly missed by a host of other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Albert Tyler Bateman; Mother, Ella Earline Bateman; and Sister, Maureen Mae (Donald) Nelson.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday June 23,2021 at Newcomer Cremations and Funerals.
Mass will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, June 24, 2021 at All Saints Catholic Church.
