Susan Elaine Claiborne, age 69 of O’Fallon, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021. She was born in Gideon, Missouri on October 31, 1951 to Billy and Ruth Kitchen (nee Caulder).

A gifted student, Susan had many professional roles. Including almost 24 years at National Corn Growers Association (NCGA), where she was highly respected for her contribution to the farming community. Susan’s active roles in her church, included being the Pre School Director at First Baptist Church of Lake St. Louis. and singing in the choir. She spent decades impacting the lives of the families and their children. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, but an even more dedicated fan of the sporting events her children and grandchildren participated in.

She is the beloved wife of William Claiborne, of almost 50 years. Loving mother of Mark (Carrie) Claiborne, Benjamin (Kelly) Claiborne, and Elena (David) Smith. Dearest Meemaw of Edward Claiborne, Cameron Claiborne, Wyatt Claiborne, Isabella Smith and William Smith. Dearest daughter of Billy and Ruth Kitchen. Dearest Sister of Debra (Marty) Fowler, Reatha (Martin) Dickerson and a host of other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Barry Kitchen.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, July 31, 2021 with a visitation from 10:00am, followed by the service at 11:00am. First Baptist Church of Lake St. Louis, 2230 Lake St. Louis Blvd, Lake St. Louis, MO 63367. Internment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery on Monday, August 2, 2021.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to First Baptist Church of Lake St. Louis Children’s Ministry, 2230 Lake St. Louis Blvd., Lake St. Louis, MO 63367.
