Thomas C. Grojean Life story video
Thomas C. Grojean, 76, passed away peacefully in the privacy of his home on Friday, May 12th, 2023. Beloved husband of Janet Grojean (nee Fields); Cherished father of Kevin Grojean and Ericka Grojean; Adored grandfather of Jaden Thomas Grojean and Emerson Grace Grojean.

Tom was predeceased by his loving parents, Claude Grojean and Bertha (Bummy) Grojean (nee Walther), and dearest brothers, Timothy Grojean and Daniel Grojean.

A true St. Louis City Son and consummate family man, Tom was born in 1947 and resided in South St. Louis City throughout his youth and early adulthood. He was a St. Louis City police officer, a veteran of the United States Air Force and the Missouri National Guard, sharing workplaces and a lifetime bond with his brother, Dan. He had the honor of serving as President of the Hampton Village Athletic Club during his children’s formative years. In 1993, Tom and Janet purchased their current home in Defiance, MO, and spent the last 30 years sharing their time with family and friends alike, traveling and cultivating a family legacy that continues to grow.

Those that knew him well can attest to his unwavering loyalty and love to family and friends alike. Tom wanted little and gave everything. He had a highly developed sense of humor and incredible “street smarts”. He developed lifelong friendships with those he worked with and the many shared friends and family of his wife, children, grandchildren. Tom loved classic American cars and Motown music, he enjoyed a good John Grisham novel and the 1980 motion picture, The Blues Brothers. His perfect Saturday morning was a trip to the junkyard with his brother and their like-minded friends. Tom was truly respected and revered by those that had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be profoundly missed.
