Alfred was a Truck Driver for many years (Teamsters Local 600) and was also a self-employed contractor doing home remodels. He loved fixing things, woodworking, building anything out of wood, was a voracious reader, loved model airplanes, and was a former private pilot flying his Piper Cherokee. Al was also a member of the American Legion Post 312. He married the former Marie Therese Paddock on November 21, 1981 in West Alton, Missouri.
Al was the beloved husband of Marie Therese "Tere" Brooks and loving father and dearest Dad to Alfred "Al" Brooks, Jr. (Kathy), Corby Gross, Robin Brooks (Steve), William "Bill" Brooks (Julie), Tracy Johnson Brooks (Paul), Gary Warden (Cindy), William "Bill" Warden (Ruth), Diane Taylor (Clark) and Wendy Cromer (Bob). In addition he leaves behind his sister Marian Jeanette Roney (late Charlie), many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and numerous other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Brothers: James "Jimmy" Brooks, Ross Brooks and Eugene Eldon Brooks; and a granddaughter, Ali Brooks.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 am Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 30, 2016, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will be Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Missouri or the Sunshine Mission.
