Clifford Vandermoon, 90, of St. Peters, MO, passed away November 4. He was born in Luverne, MN, the son of Lennie and Vernon Vandermoon. While a child, his family moved to rural Bureau County, IL, and settled on the Yonk family farm. He played football and basketball at Manlius High School, and after graduation joined the Navy. He served on the USS Ingersoll during the Korean War. Honorably discharged in 1954, he returned to Illinois where he worked as a machinist before becoming a truck driver for Arkansas Best Freight (ABF).

Clifford was known throughout his life for his dry wit and sense of humor. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.

Surviving are his wife Barbara and five children, Gisele (Richard) Atterberry, Marcy Brown, Norm (Terry) Vandermoon, Geoff (Shelly) Brown, and Sally Vandermoon, sisters Dorothy (Jim) Carlson, Janet Clementz, and Lois (Robert) Fox, ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and grand-nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, his first wife Betty Jane Keutzer, his brother Veral Vandermoon, and his sister Charlotte Vandermoon Blackert.

A private interment will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or a charity of choice.
