Lois Hartness, age 94, of Winfield, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2021. She was born in Richmond Heights, Missouri on July 26, 1926 to Louis and Ethyl Glenz (nee Litzsinger).

Lois was a beautician for many years and owned her own salon, Francois Beauty Salon, in Florissant for 12 years. In 1946, Lois married Eugene "Gene" Rowald. Together they had two children, Dan and Carol. After Gene's passing, she married William "Bill" Hartness, and they moved to Florida. They spent many years together, traveling the world. Lois moved back to Florissant after Bill passed away.

Lois is survived by her son, Dan Rowald; her grandchildren, Jessica (Brian) Volkert, Nathan (Jackie) Rowald and Bradley (Ashlee) Rowald; her nine great-grandchildren; her siblings, Robert Glenz, Carol Coleman and Barbara Green; and her sister-in-law, Helen Glenz. She will be dearly missed by many other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Rowald; her husband, William Hartness; her father, Louis Glenz; her mother, Ethyl Glenz; her daughter, Carol Rowald; her brother, Gene Glenz; and her sister, Marilyn Glenz.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, St. Peters Chapel, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376. A funeral ceremony will take place at 9:00 am on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, St. Peters Chapel. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in St Louis.

Memorial contributions in Lois's name may be made out to the American Cancer Society, 4215 Lindell Blvd., Saint Louis, MO 63108.
