1935 - 2023

David Chester Thompson passed away peacefully on June 12, 2023 at the age of 87. He is survived by his brother, Phil (Elaine) Thompson, daughters, Sandra (Robert) Davis and Karen (Joseph) Webster, and daughter-in-law, Terri Thompson, along with eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by many other family members and friends.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Ruth (nee Browne) Thompson, his sister Henrietta Sprick (nee Thompson), his beloved wife of 36 years, Lorraine (nee Berlekamp), his sons, Steven Thompson and Michael Thompson. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of 20 years, Alma Juanita Thompson (nee Haggard).

Born November 21, 1935, in St. Louis, MO. David proudly and honorably served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War where he was trained as a radar technician earning him the nickname, Scope. David always loved airplanes, in particular military planes, and retired as Senior Quality Engineer from Hughes Aircraft in 1995. He enjoyed golf and played in many local tournaments. His other hobbies were fishing and camping. He was a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of Moose 1513 in St. Charles where he will be missed by many.

Visitation will be Friday, June 16, 2023, from 9:00 am until 11:00am at Newcomer Funeral Home, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 11:00 am Newcomer St. Peters. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery, Boonslick and 6th Street, Saint Charles, Missouri, 63301.
