Alaistair Randall Gerard Wilton, affectionately known as “Al,” departed this world on June 5, 2025, leaving behind a legacy packed with laughter and a heart full of love. Born on December 19, 1955, in St. Louis, Missouri, Al had an extroverted personality that could light up a room—if humor were currency, he would have been a billionaire. Al was proud to have spent 42 remarkable years working at AT&T, and he treasured the memories and friendships he made there. He was always the life of the party. His positive outlook, along with his contagious smile, made him a joy to everyone fortunate enough to cross paths with him. He inspired many with his strong faith in Jesus, and he felt called to share that faith with those around him.
Al’s love for music was almost as strong as his love for his family. A die-hard fan of rock n' roll and a true "Deadhead" at his core, one could often catch him commandeering the closest speaker to play "Al's Mix" and offering to share his playlist with anyone and everyone. He loved going to concerts and also proudly cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals during baseball season.
At home in Chesterfield, Missouri, Al spent his last moments peacefully surrounded by his beautiful family. He is survived by his cherished wife, Rhonda, and his beloved children: David Wilton (Heather Benton), Derek Wilton (Molly), Madysen Wilton (Brock Benisch), and Cassie Hunt (Parker). He adored his grandkids — Micah, Jackson, Harper, Adeline, Brooks, Max, Kollins, and Emma — each held their own special place in his heart, providing him with an endless source of joy and laughter. Al is also survived by his older brother, Bill Wilton (Joyce).
Though Al's beloved parents, Willadean Laux and William Wilton, have preceded him in death, we rest assured that he is now reunited and rejoicing with them in Heaven.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Al’s extraordinary life on June 14, 2025, at the Newcomer Funeral Home, West County, in Chesterfield, Missouri. The visitation will be held from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM and the celebration of life service will begin immediately after. Let’s honor a man who loved his family, laughed often, and lived out and shared his faith in Jesus with all.
We love you, Al.
