Amy J. Lore, 51, of St. Ann, Mo. passed away on July 26th, 2024, after a valiant battle with cancer.
Amy was born on April 21st, 1973 to Kathleen Schuermann in St. Louis, Mo. Amy attended Hazelwood East high school and went on to attend Southeastern Illinois College in pursuit of a nursing degree.
June 12, 1990, Amy met Melvin “Wes” Lore IV in Spanish Lake, after days of late-night phone calls. Wes called a number his friend left behind, only to find himself smitten enough to declare to Amy that she was the woman he would marry. Their thirty-one-year marriage began June 12th, 1993.
Amy and Wes had three beautiful children, Kayla Rigger (Matt), JoAnna Lore (Chris), and Melvin “Wesley” Lore V (Ashley), and 6 wonderful grandchildren, who were the light of Amy’s life: Matthew, Roselyn, Melvin VI, Gwendolyn, Benjamin, and William.
Amy found joy in life in her family and friends. Amy was quick to throw a party for the simplest of occasions and invited all who needed a warm dinner and a safe place to lay their head in her home. She loved doing crafts and coloring and had an incomparable love of Christmas. Amy loved vacationing in Florida and found comfort on the beach, and in the sunshine.
Amy led by example in showing love, kindness, and compassion to all who encountered her. Her quick-witted, spit-fire personality was a joy to have in a room, and solidified her ability to find friends everywhere she went.
Amy was predeceased by her grandparents, Stanley and Floris Schuermann, mother-in-law, Carol Lore, and brother, Andrew Williamson. She is survived by her mother, Kathleen, husband, Wes, and her three children and six grandchildren, all of whom are devastated by the loss of the matriarch of their family.
Services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, St. Peters, Mo. on August 10th, 2024, visitation from 10am-2pm and services immediately after at 2pm.
