Andrew George Evans, known affectionately to many as Drew, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 20, 1982, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, his life was defined by gentle kindness, a vibrant curiosity, and profound dedication to those closest to him.

Drew first crossed paths with Amanda, his beloved wife, when he was just ten years old, having moved into an adjacent neighborhood upon his family's relocation to the St Louis area. Although they attended school together from elementary through high school, they did not truly connect or form the foundation of a friendship and their future relationship until their paths intersected during their employment at the St Louis Arc.  It was there that they discovered the parallel journeys their lives had taken, from attending the University of Missouri-Columbia to obtaining their degrees in psychology and then to pursuing careers in the helping professions. They had unknowingly grown together for most of their lives and these intertwined paths became the foundation of the life they built together.

Drew’s professional career embodied his steadfast reliability and quiet excellence. He found his later calling at Ultimate Software, now Ultimate Kronos Group, where he earned the distinction of being the longest-standing employee within his team. He offered unwavering support and expertise, building a legacy of trust and cooperation among colleagues, and embodying his humble, understated nature that others so deeply admired.

He was, at heart, a joyful soul—an old spirit with a youthful spark. Those who knew Drew delighted in his ability to have fun and embrace his passions wholeheartedly. Whether diving into the world of video games, strategizing over Dungeons and Dragons, collecting Magic the Gathering cards, poring over comic books, or celebrating hard-fought wins as a devoted Philadelphia Eagles and Missouri Tigers fan, Drew invited laughter, debate, and joy into every gathering.

His razor-sharp intelligence was complemented by remarkable emotional depth; friends and family alike were drawn to his ingrained thoughtfulness, his humility, and his gift for making everyone feel truly seen. He was the sort of person whose presence made any room feel lighter and warmer.

One of Drew’s proudest accomplishments was his almost fifteen-year marriage to Amanda—the partnership he valued above all others. Together, they built not just a home, but a sanctuary filled with warmth, playfulness, and unconditional support. The joy in Drew’s heart was unmistakable whenever he spoke of Amanda or their adored dogs, Neville and Bingley, who were every bit as cherished as children.

Drew’s absence will be felt deeply by those who loved him. He is survived by Amanda, his father Tony Evans, his brothers Charles Evans and Lucas Evans, his sister Leslie (Lucas) Heberlie, his nephew Henry Heberlie, his niece Marjorie Heberlie, his longtime best friend, Tony Scherer and a large circle of extended family and friends whose lives were brightened by his kindness. Drew’s memory also lives on in the lively stories and deep bonds that wove his family together.

He reunites now with his mother, Patricia “Paty” Yaeger, both his maternal and paternal grandparents, and his much-missed dog, Fitz. The echoes of their love surely welcomed him home.

Drew’s family and friends hold his memory with immense tenderness and gratitude—the kind of gentle mark left by one who gave so freely of himself, who brought wisdom and laughter in equal measure, and whose loss leaves the world a little less bright, a little less kind, but forever changed for having known his love.

Details regarding services to honor Drew’s remarkable life will be shared with family and friends. As we look back, we remember Drew not for a single achievement, but for the tapestry of generosity, resilience, and joy that defined his life—and the unending love that lifts all who walk in his light.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests you consider a donation to one of the charities listed below in Drew's honor.
