Anita Pearl Morris

February 1, 1932 — September 13, 2023

Anita Pearl Morris, age 91, of Saint Charles, Missouri, surrounded by her loving family, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 13, 2023. She was born in Viola, Kentucky on February 1, 1932, to Marvin and Ruby Rhodes (nee Timmons).

Anita grew up in Mayfield, KY where she met and married Harry Morris when she was 17 years old. They moved to St. Charles to raise their family, and she devotedly loved him for 56 years before he went home to be with the Lord in 2005.

Anita was a devout Christian who loved the Lord Jesus Christ so much that you couldn't help but feel His presence when you were with her. Anita's selfless spirit was demonstrated time and again in the way she joyfully cared for her family and always placed their needs above her own. She genuinely listened to those around her making them feel understood and validated, while gently encouraging them to let the Holy Spirit guide their paths.

Anita loved playing with her children and grandchildren, was proudly present at every important event in their lives, and always kept them laughing with her witty sense of humor. She demonstrated her love for all of God's creation in the way she enjoyed running through the woods on her family farm as a young girl, camping on vacations with Harry and their children, feeding the birds and squirrels, and caring for pets of all kinds.

Anita's strength of character showed in the way she persevered through many trials as her health began to fail, never wanting to burden anyone. Even in her final days, Anita's grateful heart was evident by the way she continuously thanked those who were caring for her needs. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her!

Anita is survived by her Son, Harry "Dusty" (Diane) Morris Jr.; Daughter, Lisa (Robert Jr.) Jackson; Daughter-In-Law, Janet Morris; Sister, Carolyn (John) Cox; Grandchildren, Tracy (Jeff) Paitz, David (Jessica) Morris Jr., Christopher (Jennifer) Morris, Carrie (Todd) Gessling, Daniel (Sarah) Jackson, Luke (Danae) Jackson, Rachel (Bryant) Webster, Sonya Nigh, Lauren (Matt) Prost, Lesley (Anthony) Hines; Great-Grandchildren, Oliver, Charlotte, Chase, Kylee (Keith), Paige (Blake), Belle, Joselyn, Sylas, Jade, William, Avery, Bodie; Great Great-Grandchild, Graham; and many other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her Loving Husband, Harry Morris; Father, Marvin Rhodes; Mother, Ruby Rhodes; Son, David Morris; Siblings, Vivian Rhodes, Marvin Rhodes, Carlton Rhodes, Martha Broach, Archie Rhodes, Glen Rhodes; Grandchild, Paul Jackson.
