Ann Eileen Carter

Ann Eileen Carter, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and beloved friend, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2025, in St. Peters, Missouri. Born on July 29, 1938, in St. Louis, Ann led a life filled with love, laughter, and a generous spirit that touched all who knew her.

Ann dedicated thirty years of her life to Logan University, culminating in her retirement as the Executive Assistant to the President. Her commitment and service to the university were a testament to her strong work ethic and her desire to support those around her. Throughout her career, she created lasting memories and friendships that continued to enrich her life.

As a proud graduate of St. Alphonsus Rock High School and an alumna of Webster University, Ann valued education deeply. Yet her true pride came from her family. She lived for her grandchildren, delighting in every moment spent with them. Some of her favorite memories were filled with joy and laughter, particularly the time she mistakenly drove the rental car the wrong way down a one-way street during a trip with her grandson, Matt—a story that will likely be retold with chuckles for generations to come. Her grandchildren delighted in her mid-western accent and her inability to pronounce the "h" sound. The word "huge" always came out as "yuge", and her grandchildren's last name, Huston, always came out as "youston".

Ann's warmth shone through in her personality. A devout Catholic, she exuded kindness and humor, always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need while rarely asking for anything in return. She was a constant presence at her grandchildren's activities, whether they were dance competitions, horse shows, or Boy Scout events. Her passion for reading and her cherished moments spent with her Beta Sigma Phi sorority sisters added to her rich tapestry of life, reflecting her zest for connection and community.

Ann is survived by her loving daughter, Angela (Mike) Huston; her grandsons, Jonathan (Fabiola) Carter and Matthew (Hannah) Huston; her granddaughter, Jessica Huston; and her great-granddaughter, Ada Huston. She also leaves behind her dear nieces, Lisa Schuito-Schmiedeskamp and Kathy (Gene) McCammack-Cooper, who will always hold her memory in their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Carter; her parents, Salvatore and Eileen Schuito; her stepson, David Carter; her brother, Frank (Patricia) Schuito; and her niece, Patty Schuito. The bonds they shared remain an indelible part of her legacy.

A memorial gathering in Ann's honor will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri.

In this time of sorrow, let us remember Ann Eileen Carter not only for her countless contributions but, most importantly, for the love and laughter she shared with all of us. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and devotion—a shining example of a life well-lived.
