Anne Kukuljan (née Doyle), a spirited and devoted matriarch, passed away on May 17, 2026. Born on August 13, 1951, in St. Louis, Missouri, Anne lived a life marked by fierce love for her family, bold honesty, and a caring heart that placed others before herself.
Known affectionately as a firecracker, Anne was unapologetically opinionated and never hesitated to speak her mind. Her candid nature was matched only by her deep commitment to those she loved. Throughout her life, Anne demonstrated an unwavering devotion to her family, a source of great pride and joy, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, about whom she was ceaselessly enthusiastic and attentive.
In her youth, Anne was remarkably talented in creative pursuits. She could repaint, remodel, sew, or DIY nearly anything imaginable, often crafting homemade clothing and toys for her children. A dedicated sports mom, she coached her children’s soccer and softball teams, fostering resilience and success through wins and losses alike. Together with her husband, Rich Kukuljan, Anne shared a love of card games, puzzles, and keeping her hands busy with intricate handiwork. One of her most memorable traits was her laugh, which almost always resulted in a snort that seemed to go on and on.
Anne's granddaughters cherished her advice and often sought her out as a personal therapist, a testament to the trust and comfort she provided. Among her joyous memories were moments of dancing—especially to the lively tunes of Foot Loose—playing Bingo, shopping trips to Kohl’s, and dining at Cracker Barrel.
Anne is survived by her loving husband, Rich Kukuljan; her daughters Betsy Dolde (Patrick), Maria Branon (Michael); her son Andrew Velasco (Trisha); two step-sons JR Kukuljan and Stephen Kukuljan; nine grandchildren Lauren Jenkins (Colin), Sarah Velasco (Makis), Emily Dolde, Star Robertson (Jonathan), Jacob Foster, Ben Foster (Kelsey), Landon Branon, Zoey Velasco, Peyton Velasco; and eight great-grandchildren Madysen Bem, Sayde Bem, Asher Jenkins, Akira Luckers, Blaire Robertson, Vivian Robertson, Lily Jones, Tatum Foster. She is also survived by her three siblings Greg Westcott (The late Nancee), Cyndy Hotfelder (John), and Barbara Jacobsen (Glen), along with numerous other family members and friends.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents Joseph Frank Doyle and Bette June Doyle; her grandchild Jeremy Velasco; and her siblings Shawn and Dan Doyle.
Visitation will take place on May 20, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376. The funeral service will follow on the same day from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the same location.
Anne Kukuljan’s legacy is one of love, strength, and unyielding dedication to her family and community. She will be remembered fondly for her vibrant spirit, her generous heart, and the indelible mark she left on all who knew her.
