Anne Noennig

Anne Noennig (nee Schrezenmaier) of O’Fallon, MO, passed peacefully into Heaven on October 20, 2026 at the age of 96. She was born in Leipheim, Germany to Friedrich (Fritz) and Anna Schrezenmaier, who proceeded her in death. She had one sister, the late Lotte Sussmuth (Immanuel). Anne was married for 58 years to her husband, Walter, who passed away in 2007. They had two sons, Miles (Betty) of Springfield, MO and Michael (Tina) of Lake St. Louis, MO.

Anne lived a full and amazing life. She spent her first 19 years growing up in Germany during some very difficult times and her family was right in the middle of World War II. Anne met her future husband Walter, a US Army Corporal from Altenburg, MO, near the end of the war as the Americans were advancing through Germany. They kept in touch by mail for several years and she came to America alone by ship in January 1949. They were married at Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg, MO later that month.

After her sons entered school, Anne worked full time until her retirement in 1992. Anne had a very outgoing personality and had many close friends. She enjoyed traveling in the US and back home to Germany, music, playing games, lunches with friends and shopping. First and foremost to Anne, was her Christian faith. Anne spent many years at St Jacobi and Chapel of the Cross before joining Zion in 2014 after she had moved to St Peters. Anne was a wonderful, loving wife, mother and mother-in-law and she will be missed by everyone that knew her and loved her.

Family and friends will have an opportunity to honor Anne at Zion Lutheran Church in Harvester on October 26. Visitation will be from 8am to 10am, followed by a church service. Anne will be buried with her husband Walter at Jefferson Barracks.
