Art Michalak, born on April 16, 1937, departed this life on January 16, 2026, at the age of 88.
Art enjoyed spending time with his family, and spent time woodworking, taking immense pride in creating beautiful items with his hands. His talent extended beyond just woodworking; he found joy in the great outdoors, often spending time hunting and fishing, activities that reflected his love for nature.
He is survived by his beloved wife of sixty five years, Marilyn Michalak; son Thomas (Jackie) Michalak; daughter Nancy (Andy) Kyle; and three grandchildren, Doug Michalak, Allison (Devon Banks) Smith, and Blake Smith. Art also cherished three great-grandchildren: Blakeley Smith, Karson Banks, and Jaxxon Banks, his sister-in-law, Darlene Michalak; along with a host of other family members and friends who were touched by his warm spirit and engaging personality.
Art was preceded in death by his father, Charles Michalak; mother, Helen Michalak; and brother's, Robert (Eleanore) Michalak, and Richard Michalak. His legacy will continue to live on through the many lives he influenced and his unwavering love for his family.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Alban Roe Catholic Church, 2001 Shepard Road, Wildwood, Missouri.
