Arthur James Yore, known affectionately as "Art," passed away on May 29, 2026. Born on March 21, 1947, in St. Louis, Missouri, Art lived a life defined by his own determination.
Art’s career was characterized by his steadfast work ethic and practical skills. Throughout many years, he devoted himself to various maintenance roles, adeptly handling challenges with a resolve that reflected his belief in himself, that "Art could fix anything." His professional journey was a testament to his dedication and capability, making him a valued contributor in every capacity he served.
Beyond his professional life, Art was a man on his own path. He was passionate about softball and bowling, activities that brought him joy and camaraderie. He enjoyed coaching for both his son's baseball team and his own men's softball teams. In his younger years, he also ventured into the exhilaration of car racing, demonstrating his fearless nature and zest for life. A strong-willed individual, Art lived life on his own terms with a determined spirit and unrelenting fight. Additionally, Art enjoyed games of chance and often spent time at the casino, indulging in pastimes that balanced excitement with social connection. Truly, his favorite pastime was a good old-fashioned cigarette in hand.
Arthur is survived by his children: Angela Fox, Arthur J. Yore, and Kellie (David) MacLachlan. He was a grandfather to nine grandchildren: Wylee Fox and fiancé, (Morgan Griffith), Halee (Bradley) Bearden, Arthur (Sydney) Yore III, Justin Yore and fiancée (Shadow Beck), Emma "Quinn" Yore, Jamie (Jacob) Wikoff, Derek (Reanna) MacLachlan, David MacLachlan, and Tristan MacLachlan. His legacy continues through six great-grandchildren: Lacey Yore, Draven Yore, Aubrey Wikoff, Naomi Wikoff, Lincoln Wikoff, and Laken MacLachlan. Arthur is also survived by his sister Margaret Kleinkemper, his sister-in-law Patricia Yore, along with a wide circle of other family members and friends who cherished him deeply.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Mary Yore, and his siblings Marcella Eddens, William Yore, and Marie Snarzyk.
A celebration of life will be held at Crossroads Brewery - 9995 Winghaven Boulevard, O'Fallon, MO 63368 - on Thursday, June 25th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The family kindly requests for guests to wear their favorite baseball attire (preferably Cardinals) or casual dress attire.
