Barbara S. Meyerkord, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2025, surrounded by love and the memories of a life well-lived. She was 76 years old.
Born on August 17, 1948, in St. Louis, Barbara was the cherished daughter of the late Dean and Estelle Wright. She was the beloved sister of the late Joan Davis, and is survived by her sisters Shirley Kreamalmeyer and Pat Martin.
Barbara was married to George Meyerkord for 25 years, and together they shared two children: Christine and Shane Meyerkord. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Koury and Tommy LaChance, and Ryan and Logan Meyerkord. Her family was the heart of her world, and she found joy in bringing loved ones together.
Barbara began her career at Emerson Electric and McDonnell Douglas, later following her passion by opening and operating Old Towne Antiques, where she shared her love for vintage treasures with the community.
She loved traveling, laughing, and making memories. Whether exploring new places or hosting family get-togethers, Barbara brought warmth and joy wherever she went. Her vibrant spirit and generous heart will be deeply missed.
She was deeply loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends, and shared a special bond with her nieces Dee Dee Maines and Tracy Coffey, her cousin Bridget, and her nephews Eddie Manhart, Brian Kreamalmeyer, and Lance Smith-with Eddie proudly claiming he was “Barbie’s favorite.”
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm, all on Friday, May 30, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, Saint Peters, Missouri 63376. Interment will follow at Our Lady Cemetery, Lake Saint Louis, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara’s memory are welcome to help plant trees and create a lasting living tribute in her honor.
