Barton “Bart” Karoll, age 77, of Wentzville, MO, passed away on September 30, 2025. He was born on June 27, 1948, in New York City, NY to the late Seymour and Lillian Karoll.
Bart is survived by his beloved wife, Martha “Marty” Karoll; his stepdaughters Lynn (Paul) Vitale, Kathleen (Troy) Stafford, and Karen (Dave) Penning; grandchildren Kayla and Rachael Vitale, Jordan and Kenzie Boone, Amanda (Craig) Brodbeck, and Courtney Penning; and great-grandchildren Aubrey and Ava Brodbeck and Karter Cody. He will also be missed by many dear relatives and friends.
Bart proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a life member of VFW Post 3944 and rode with the Patriot Guard, honoring fellow veterans throughout his life.
Bart had a passion for music, was a talented singer and guitar player, and enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycles. He owned show horses and competed in events across Illinois, Tennessee, and Alabama winning several blue ribbons.
A visitation and remembrance will be held Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 4:00–8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, MO. A memorial service will take place Friday, October 10, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. The funeral procession will depart following the memorial service. Interment with military honors at 1:30 p.m. at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
