Betty Sue Douglas, born July 3, 1943, passed away on June 17, 2026. She lived a life characterized by dedication to her family and her passions, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Betty’s devotion to her beloved dogs and cats was a defining aspect of her life, reflecting her compassionate nature. Her care extended beyond animals to include a fondness for nurturing plants, an interest that brought her joy and tranquility.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Anthony) Hastings; her son, Doug (Linda) Bolen; and her granddaughter, Katherine (Mark) Besselman. Betty also leaves behind two great-grandchildren, Hank and Rosemarie Besselman, as well as her sisters, Judy (The late Thomas) Marshall, and Nancy (Jim) Umfress. In addition, a host of other family members and friends remember her warmly.

Betty was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Moore; her mother, Margaret Moore; and her sisters, Margaret Ann (Louis) Dillender and Marilyn (Robert) Schaefer.

A visitation to celebrate Betty’s life will be held on July 3, 2026, from 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri 63376. This gathering offers family, friends, and acquaintances the opportunity to pay their respects and honor her memory.

Betty Sue Douglas’s enduring love for her family and gentle care for the creatures and plants she cherished will remain a testament to her kind spirit. Her legacy is one of warmth, kindness, and quiet strength.
