Bob Moore

Bob Moore, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, left this world surrounded by family on August 7, 2025, in Lake St. Louis, Missouri, after a brave fight against lung cancer. He was born on May 24, 1956, in St. Louis, Missouri, and grew up surrounded by the warmth of a loving family, which he carried into his own life.

A proud graduate of Ritenour High School, Bob continued his education at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, where the foundations of who he would become were laid. Bob's personality was spirited; he was opinionated and a bit rough around the edges. Yet, those who knew him best understood the depth of love he poured into his family and friends. He was particular and set in his ways, qualities that sometimes made him a force to be reckoned with, yet his fierce love and unwavering devotion left an indelible mark on the hearts of those closest to him.

His family fondly recalls the many memorable trips to Mississippi to visit his in-laws, where laughter and love filled the air. The backyard became a cherished arena filled with joyful memories as Bob played ball with his children, showcasing his playful spirit. As a dad, he reveled in the simple yet profound moments that made family life beautiful.

Known affectionately as the "Clark Griswold" of celebrations, Bob embraced the holiday season with unmatched enthusiasm. Christmas was a time when his passion for over-the-top festivities shone, as he gathered family and friends to celebrate the magic of the season. His pride in hosting these gatherings was palpable, bringing joy and togetherness to everyone around him.

Bob was also known for his unwavering support of his children and grandchildren at their various sporting events. A true sports enthusiast, he followed all things St. Louis with a fervor, passionately rooting for the Cardinals in baseball, the Blues in hockey, and City soccer. He found relaxation in the simplicity of sharing a Jack and Coke or playing cards with family and friends. His enthusiasm extended to his hobbies, as an avid collector of coins, sports memorabilia, and classic cars, notably his beloved 1970 Chevelle Super Sport, a gem he cherished deeply. He also had a deep love for classic rock music and singing. 

His meticulous nature extended to his yard and home—the pride he took in maintaining them was a testament to his love for those he cared about. Bob was not only proud of the spaces he created but even prouder of his legacy: his children and grandchildren. He often cited them as his greatest accomplishments, a fitting reflection of his enduring commitment to family.

Bob is survived by his devoted wife, Lori Moore, and their three children: Tyler (Molly) Gibbs, Stephanie (Matt) Harry, and Johnny (Katherine) Moore. He leaves behind seven beloved grandchildren: Justin Gibbs, Teagan Gibbs, Matthew Harry, Michael Harry, Jacob Harry, James Moore, and Clara Moore, who will carry his memory forward. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, John Leo Moore and Constance Moore.

A visitation will take place on August 22, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, followed by a memorial service at 6:00 PM.

His absence will be felt by all who loved him, yet his legacy will live on through the countless memories crafted with family and the love he imparted. Bob Moore was a remarkable man whose spirit and essence will never be forgotten.
