It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Bonita Marie Droege, affectionately known as Bonnie, who left this world on December 26, 2025. Bonnie was born on May 29, 1954, in St. Louis, where she spent her formative years and cultivated a spirit that would connect her deeply to others throughout her life.
Bonnie was a beacon of kindness and consideration, known for her ability to strike up a conversation with anyone she met. Her genuine interest in people drew friends to her effortlessly, creating bonds that spanned a lifetime. As a loving wife and dedicated mother, she navigated the roles of family with grace and warmth, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those she cherished.
Her passions were many, but she found joy in the sweet sounds of music and the companionship of dogs, which filled her home with love and laughter. Bonnie’s nurturing spirit was reflected not only in her hobbies but also in the way she cared for her family and friends, always ready to lend an ear or offer a helping hand.
Bonita is survived by her devoted husband, Jeff Droege. She leaves behind her beloved children, daughter Diana Droege and son Daniel (Dawn) Droege, who will carry forward her legacy of love and kindness. Bonnie was also a proud grandmother to four grandchildren: Chandler (Grace), Dakota, Trey, and Malcom, who brought her immense joy and pride.
Bonnie is lovingly remembered by her four sisters, Barb, Beverly, Bernadett, and Brenda, as well as her brother, Bob. Their shared memories and experiences will forever remind them of her vibrant spirit and boundless love.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Meynell; her mother, Ann Meynell; and her sister, Betty. Though they left this world before her, their memories will continue to resonate deeply within those she leaves behind.
A visitation celebrating Bonnie’s life will take place on January 10, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, MO.
Though Bonnie may no longer walk among us, her spirit and kindness will forever live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be dearly missed, and her legacy will continue to inspire love and connection in an ever-expanding circle of family and friends.
