Brett Steven Struckmeyer, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully in his home in Wildwood, Missouri, on May 15, 2026. Born on January 17, 1986, in St. Louis, Missouri, Brett lived a life marked by kindness, generosity, and a gentle spirit that touched all those who knew him.
Brett was an outdoorsman at heart, finding solace and joy in fishing and camping, where he could connect with nature and nurture his deep love for animals. An avid reader and lifelong learner, he carried a quiet wisdom and curiosity that enriched his conversations and his relationships. Brett’s genuine kindness and civility toward everyone were hallmarks of his character; he was never heard to utter a cross word about anyone and was always ready with a helping hand, especially to his loving parents, Steven and Mary Ann Struckmeyer.
Throughout his life, Brett embodied caring and generosity, which extended beyond his immediate family. He was a beloved uncle to Athena and Hannah Struckmeyer, cherished by his brother Ryan Struckmeyer, and lovingly remembered by his aunts Diane (Al) Todd and Laura (Larry) Rodenbeck, along with many other family members and friends who found warmth and comfort in his presence.
Though his uncles, Mike Malter and Jim Malter, passed before him, their memories live on in the stories Brett loved to share, keeping the spirit of family close to his heart.
The family will honor Brett’s memory with a visitation on May 26, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, West County, located at 2211 Clarkson Rd, Chesterfield, MO 63005. A Mass will be held the following day, May 27, at 10:00 AM at Saint Alban Roe Catholic Church, 2001 Shepard Rd, Wildwood, MO 63038. This will be followed by a graveside service at Holy Cross Cemetery in Ballwin, MO, beginning at 11:15 AM. Family and friends are invited to gather once more at Saint Alban Roe Catholic Church at noon on May 27 for a time of remembrance and fellowship.
Brett’s life, though too brief, was one filled with quiet strength, unwavering kindness, and a generosity of spirit that will forever echo in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. May his gentle soul find eternal peace, and may those who grieve his loss find comfort in the memories of his loving presence.
