Brian Eugene Kerr, a cherished soul whose love and laughter touched the lives of many, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025, at the age of 67. Surrounded by his beloved daughter R. Michelle and his dear sister Rhonda, Brian faced his second battle with cancer with the remarkable courage and strength that characterized his life.

Born on September 8, 1958, in Grinnell, IA, Brian was welcomed into the world by his parents, Francis and Ardith Kerr, both of whom have preceded him in death. He lived a life full of love and service, one which was shaped by his deep commitment to family and the values instilled in him.

Brian was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Rachel Kerr, who stood by him for nearly five decades, and his daughter, Crista Parks. The pain of these losses weighed heavily on his heart, yet he found solace in the love of those who remained. Also preceding him in death were his siblings: Steven Kerr, Garry Kerr, Theresa Wallace, and James Kerr, each leaving behind a legacy of fond memories that will be cherished by all who knew them.

He is survived by his two children, R. Michelle of Roxana, IL, and Jeremy Kerr of O’Fallon, MO, who carry forward his legacy of kindness and resilience. Brian was a beloved brother to Judy Meythaler (Robert Jon), Linda Kerr, Eileen Kerr, Francis Kerr Junior (Donnetta), Rhonda Miller (John), and Ronald Kerr, who will forever hold him dear in their hearts. Additionally, he held a unique place in the lives of many nieces and nephews, affectionately known as "Uncle Byan," who will remember his playful spirit and wise counsel. Brian's chosen family members, Dan and Shiela Diehm, also survive him, and they share in the profound grief of his departure.

A proud U.S. Army Veteran, Brian dedicated a significant part of his life to service, later retiring as Chief Information Officer for People’s Savings Bank. His professional accomplishments were nothing short of impressive, but it was his personal qualities that left an indelible mark on all who knew him. Brian was notably intelligent, highly skilled, and endowed with a sharp yet loving wit. He had a unique ability to fix just about anything, whether it was a broken gadget or a wounded heart. While he often projected an air of stoicism, those closest to him knew of his tender moments filled with generosity and thoughtfulness.

Brian had a profound appreciation for the simple joys of life. He loved television, comedy, cars, music, and computers, immersing himself in the passions that brought him joy and reminded him of the beauty in the world. Even amidst his battles, Brian displayed unwavering strength, mourning the recent loss of his beloved wife while cherishing the memories they created together over nearly fifty years.

In his passing, he leaves behind not just a family, but a community that will celebrate his life and the values he embodied. Brian will be interred at the Eternal Peace Cemetery in Wentzville, MO, where he will be reunited in restful peace with his beloved wife, Rachel. Brian’s family invites all who knew and loved him to honor his memory by celebrating his life in whatever ways feel meaningful.

As we remember Brian Eugene Kerr, let us carry forward his legacy of love, strength, and laughter, forever holding him close in our hearts.
