Listen to Obituary

On June 4, 2026 Brian Sturm passed away at the young age of 52. He leaves behind his two children whom he adored and loved with all his heart, Jacob A. Sturm and Addison L. Sturm and their mother Kelly Sewell. He also leaves his parents, Allyn & Patricia Sturm, his brother Michael Sturm and sister-in-law Sherri Miederhoff-Sturm, aunts, uncles, a nephew, nieces, cousins, both here in the St. Louis area and in Virginia, West Virginia and various other states, as well as his many close friends. He was preceded in death by all his grandparents, Edward & Carolyn McCormick and Leopold & Louise Sturm.

Brian had a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Management and spent a good part of his working career in the service of others, helping those who were at their lowest and in need of support. He was exceptional in his work with senior citizens, always showing empathy and kindness. He loved sports, especially the Kansas City Chiefs and the St. Louis Cardinals. He was also a fan of the Chicago Blackhawks, which the rest of the family, all St. Louis Blues fans, never understood and teased him endlessly. He loved music especially the rock band Van Halen and would argue with anyone who would listen that Eddie Van Halen was the greatest guitar player of all time. He was his happiest when coaching his children when they were younger and tried to never miss a game. He also loved fishing, golfing and playing cards with his friends. He loved animals and nature and taking long walks along the trails of Creve Coeur Park, which were just behind his condo. He could talk to anyone, never met a stranger and was always ready to lend a hand.

Brian’s greatest legacy are his children, Jacob and Addison who have grown to become exceptional young adults. He was extremely proud of them and loved them dearly. In their hearts they hold the same kindness and empathy as their dad and that is how we hope Brian will forever be remembered.

There will be a brief graveside service on Friday, June 19, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery, 16200 Manchester Road, Ellisville, Missouri 63011 where all will be welcome. Service will take place in the cemetery chapel near the entrance.
