Born on January 5, 1946, in St. Louis, Missouri, Carol's journey through life was defined by her immense love for her family and the kindness she extended to all around her.
A proud graduate of Ritenour High School in Overland, Missouri, Carol dedicated many years of her professional life to Host Marriott, where her hard work and dedication shone brightly. Known for her unwavering support and gentle strength, she epitomized the essence of family devotion. Her loving and kind spirit was a guiding light in the lives of her relatives and friends—a constant reminder of the power of generosity and caring.
Wherever there was family, Carol was at the heart of it. Proudly celebrating a marriage that lasted 55 joyous years to her beloved husband, David Zeiss, she embraced her role as a wife with love and dedication. She was not only a devoted partner but also a loving sister to Barbara (Louis) Matusofsky, and sister-in-law to Danny (Carol) Zeiss. Carol's cherished role as an aunt brought her immense joy, and she found great happiness in crafting beautiful baby afghans for her dear nieces and nephews, along with great nieces and nephews. Her warm culinary talents were beloved by family gatherings, with her legendary split pea soup always warm and inviting.
Carol's personality was as vibrant as her spirit; she possessed an infectious joy that lit up every room. Witty, fun-loving, and always wearing a smile, she was a testament to kindness and faith, faithfully attending church and sharing her love of life with those around her. Whether sharing laughter or lending a helping hand, her generosity knew no bounds—she would give you the shirt off her back if it meant bringing a smile to your face.
Her passing leaves a profound void in the lives of her loved ones, including her dear nieces and nephews, Sam (Kellie) Matusofsky and Stephanie Green, as well as her beloved great-nieces and great-nephews, Sarah and Kaitlyn Matusofsky, Addyson and Austin Green, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Additionally, she leaves behind many friends who loved her deeply, each person touched by the remarkable gift of her presence.
Family and friends are invited to honor Carol's remarkable life and legacy. A visitation will be held on August 1, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM at the same location. Afterward, a graveside service will take place at St. Charles Memorial Gardens at 1:30 PM.
