Christopher Glennon Mitchell, of Defiance Missouri, went to heaven on July 25, 2026.

He was born to the late Clinton Mitchell and Wilma (Henke) Mitchell on January 24, 1964 in St. Charles, Missouri. Chris graduated from Francis Howell High School in 1983. He married Barbara (Edmondson) Mitchell in 1990 and for their first five years of marriage they resided in St. Peters, Missouri. Chris built their home in 1995 in Defiance, Missouri where he and Barb lived together for thirty one years.

Chris was a Sheet Metal Worker where he worked in heating and cooling for Frank Fischer Design Aire for 40 years before retirement. He was a proud member of the Sheet Metal Workers' Local 36 Union.

Chris was an avid football athlete, fan, and coach. Chris in his playing years was a standout running back and basketball player for Francis Howell High school. He proudly coached his boys in all sports. A highlight of his coaching career was when his New Melle eighth grade football team went undefeated and won the league championship. Chris supported his loved ones in all of their activities with great enthusiasm. Cheering on his oldest son, Mason, in wrestling and his youngest son, Max, in his artistic pursuits. He was a great friend to anyone who wanted or needed one and is cherished by all who called him a friend.

Chris and his wife Barb loved to spend all their time together in whatever they did. They loved movies, date nights, spending time with family, and sharing their love wherever they were.

Chris is survived by his wife Barb Mitchell and his two sons: Mason Mitchell and Max Mitchell.

He is also survived by his mother Wilma (Henke) Mitchell, his sisters: Tina (Mitchell) Burkholder and Marcia (Mitchell) Schneider. He also is survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and an abundance of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

A Visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Sunday August 2, 2026. Additional Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 11:00 am with a Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 am August 3, 2026.
