Listen to Obituary

Clarence "Jack" Carr, a beloved husband, father, and cherished member of his community, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026, in O'Fallon, Missouri, just one day shy of his 86th birthday. Born on March 19, 1940, in St. Louis, Missouri, Jack lived a life marked by unwavering faith, dedication, and an enduring commitment to those he loved.

Jack’s remarkable journey began with his proud service in the United States Marine Corps, where he faithfully upheld the Marine credo "Semper Fi" — always faithful. Stationed at Camp Pendleton, he took great pride in serving his country, not only fulfilling various duties but also imparting knowledge as he helped train newer recruits. His deep sense of duty and integrity served as the foundation for every aspect of his life.

A man of vibrant spirit and humor, Jack was known for his gift of storytelling. He delighted in captivating friends and family alike with jokes and tales, always sharing laughter and warmth wherever he went. His faith was central to who he was; he was an exemplary man of God and a Christian whose life of devotion and love was a beacon to all who knew him—a standard for others to aspire to.

For over four decades, Jack owned and operated Hotshots Delivery, a same-day delivery company where he earned a reputation for punctuality and reliability, regardless of the weather. His clients knew they could depend on him, and Jack took great pride in ensuring each delivery was made on time, reflecting his steadfast work ethic and commitment to excellence.

Beyond his professional achievements, Jack was an avid athlete who enjoyed running marathons and lifting weights to keep himself in peak condition. His discipline and love for physical fitness mirrored the strong character that defined him throughout his life.

Perhaps one of Jack’s most profound legacies is the incredible love he and his wife, Ann Carr, shared in fostering over 88 children. Beginning their fostering journey in 1989, inspired by the tragic loss of their son in 1987, they opened their hearts and home to countless children, offering them care, stability, and compassion. This act of selflessness and kindness stands as a testament to their boundless love and enduring spirit.

Jack is survived by his devoted wife, Ann Carr, who lovingly remembers him for his unwavering faithfulness and the steadfast love he showed throughout their life together. He leaves behind seven nurturing children: Rodney (Peggy) Carr, Jacqueline (Jeff) Nickell, Penny (Richard) Drey, Derek Carr, Troy (Mary) Schneider, and Joey (Alejandra) Kreitner, as well as many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. These treasured family members carry forward his legacy of love, faith, and service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence William Carr and Clara Carr; his sons, Gary Carr and Byron Carr; his daughter, Debbie Carr; and his brother, Tony Carr.

An "Ice Cream" remembrance of Jack’s extraordinary life will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at The Church Underground, located at 301 Main Street, Troy, Missouri.
