Constance "Connie" Uhlis, née O'Brien, was born on January 12, 1955, and passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026. She lived a life marked by devotion to her family and the many cherished relationships throughout her years.
Connie was a beloved mother to her three children Nichole (Chris) Orbin, Thomas "Tommy" Uhlis Jr., and Kyle (Elisa) Uhlis, who were central to her heart and life. Her joy extended deeply into her role as Grandma Connie, with her adoration evident for her seven grandchildren Kylie, Ashlan, Rocco, Paige, Paxton, Quinn, and Carter. They were a source of pride and happiness that enriched her days. Her little companion and best fur baby, Belle, also won her heart over these past few years.
Connie was also a loved big sister to Dawn Niedringhaus, Mike O'Brien, Janise Schwend, Patrick O’Brien and James O'Brien. She shared bonds with them and with a wide circle of family members and friends from all chapters of her life.
Connie's life was shaped by the loving memories of those who preceded her in death, including her devoted husband and best friend, Thomas Uhlis Sr., and her parents, James and Shirley O'Brien. She was also preceded by her brother, Patrick O'Brien, whose memories she carried with warmth.
Connie, often referred to as “OB” by her friends, was a wife to her high school sweetheart Tom for 45 years. Their most prized possessions were their kids and grandkids. Connie spent most of her life as a stay at home Mom. She held down the fort while Tom traveled the world for television. She was always so proud. She made sure to create memories with her kids they would never forget. From endless trips to Pipefitters pool, to cheering on Tommy and Kyle from the soccer sidelines, to primping and shopping with Nichole. She always made sure to justify everything she bought by saying it was “on clearance “. Connie went with the flow with whatever was necessary for her family. Home was St. Louis, to then Atlanta stealing her heart, to back to St. Louis for good. She lead a simple life finding joy in spending time with her family and friends from every season of her life. Though she may have not intended to be funny, she had a way of bringing laughter to the room. Aside from her family, she loved Disney, the beach, and her never ending cups of ice that went with her everywhere.
Connie will be deeply missed, while remaining in our hearts and on our minds. Her kids find peace in knowing their Mom and Dad are together again, now watching over them from Heaven above.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date this year. Please check back for details.
