Cynthia S. Arter

Cynthia S. Arter, born on September 24, 1957, peacefully passed away on February 13, 2026. A cherished member of her family and community, Cynthia touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Cynthia is survived by her devoted husband, Richard Arter. She was a loving mother to her son, Rick (Katie) Arter, and her two daughters, Ashley (Jon) Arter and Melissa Schneider. Cynthia's joy was further enriched by her two beloved grandchildren, Isabel Schneider and Christina Mattingly. She also leaves behind her brother, William Burd, and sister, Nancy Hoff, as well as a host of other family members and friends whose lives she enriched with her warmth and kindness.

Cynthia's had a profound love for cooking, often finding inspiration while watching the Food Network Channel. In addition to her culinary skills, she enjoyed the excitement of game shows and was an avid fan of NASCAR Racing. Her interests also included attending craft fairs and shopping on St. Charles Main Street, where she sought unique treasures. Cynthia found joy in nature, particularly at the Sunflower Fields, and she was a devoted lover of animals. A voracious reader, her affinity for Snoopy added a whimsical touch to her personality.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her mother, Susie Burd; father, Jack Burd; and her brother, Alan Burd. Her memory will be celebrated and cherished by her loved ones.

Visitation and memorial services will be held on February 26, 2026, at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri. The visitation will take place from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, followed by a memorial service beginning at 3:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to gather to honor the life of this remarkable woman.
