Daniel Lee Cote, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, peacefully departed this world on November 22, 2025, at his home in O'Fallon, Missouri, surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 5, 1943, in Kankakee, Illinois, Daniel was a man who embodied generosity, love, and a joyful spirit. His warmth and good-natured personality touched the lives of all who had the honor of knowing him.
For 26 years, Daniel dedicated his professional life to Simon Property Group, serving as a General Manager before retiring. His commitment and leadership in his career were deeply respected, and he left an indelible mark on his colleagues. Nevertheless, it was in his personal life that Daniel's true legacy flourished. He cherished his nearly 62-year marriage to his beloved wife, Susan Cote. Their bond was a beautiful testament to love, and Susan simply loved everything about him. Together, they created a nurturing home filled with laughter and joy.
Daniel was immensely proud of his sons, Brian (Tammy) Cote and Jeffery Cote. To them, he was not just a father but also a pillar of strength and support. His pride radiated through every aspect of their lives, extending warmly to his cherished grandchildren: Alexandria Cote, Samantha Cote, Maiya Cote, Tessa Cote, and Keyton Cote. They were the light of his life, and his happiness was in his eyes and smile each time he spoke of them.
His passions included playing golf and spending time with his family. He cherished every moment shared around the dinner table, cheering on his grandchildren at their events, and enjoying leisurely days on the golf course surrounded by friends and family. These experiences enriched his life and the lives of those around him.
While Daniel leaves behind a loving family, he is reunited in heaven with his parents, Lawrence and Louise Cote, as well as his brother, Lawrence W. Cote, and sisters, Evelyn Conway, Delores Scime, and Gloria Risley. Their memories will forever be cherished by all who knew them.
Daniel's life was a continuous celebration of kindness and love. The essence of who he was will live on through the countless lives he touched. A visitation will be held on December 12, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 5:00 PM and a gathering from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, all taking place at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri.
In this time of loss, we remember a resilient spirit who lived life to the fullest and taught us the true meaning of family and love. Daniel Lee Cote will forever be missed but never forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you consider a donation to The American Kidney Fund, in honor of Daniel.
