Daniel "Dan" Paul Mohrman, Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, on Friday, October 31, 2025, with his wife and family by his side. He was 85 years old.
Dan was a proud graduate of Soldan High School where he still holds the record for the 400 High hurdle relay. He then continued to University of Missouri and is a loyal Mizzou fan. He began his career in a private engineering firm and later moved to Jewish Hospital as Vice President of Facilities and Engineering for many years. He was on the faculty of the University Of Wisconsin School Of Architecture, and served as a guest lecturer at Washington University School of Engineering. He retired from BJH as Consultant for Campus Redevelopment after 42 years.
There is one dominant theme that embraces who Dan was to all of us, and that is a family man, he loved his family. He cherished his role as father and grandfather, uncle, and he did it well. All you have to do is look at a picture of him with one of them and see the happiness on his and their faces. Family was his whole world, and this was not limited to his immediate family. He was actively interested in his siblings, and nieces and nephews (great and grand). Whether he was taking them on a Canadian fishing trip, meeting them for breakfast to discuss their goals and ambitions, going shopping, traveling with them, or just spending time with them, he always tried to facilitate their success. He did this quietly and unassumingly. He was a man of strength, wisdom, and love. His joy was sharing the happiness of those he loved. He had a unique manner which made all of us feel special. As his health declined, it was reliving the memories of all family and friends who touched his life that made him smile; again it brought him peace and love. His final act of love was being an organ donor, so many could benefit.
His interests include: fishing, golf, gardening, traveling, study and reading of history, lover of art, lover of Mizzou, cooking, Hosted Ladies Day, “red wagon puller”, closet Dove Bar eater, and lover of red wine and dark chocolate. He also enjoyed his time spent as a member of the Knights of Columbus at Ascension Catholic Church.
Daniel is survived by his beloved wife, Pat Mohrman; loving children, Michael (Karla) Mohrman, Bob Mohrman, Molly Mohrman, Rob (Janine) Harper, and Patrick (Cathy) Harper; treasured grandchildren, Michael (Makenzy) Mohrman, Lauren (Ben Rydberg) Mohrman, Nora Harper, Henry Harper, Oliver Harper, Brynn Harper; Brother, and David (Lorene) Mohrman; dear sister, Judy (the late Ken) Jones; and a host of other family members and friends.
