Daniel Patrick McArdle, known to most of his friends as “Dig”, passed away at the age of 54 in Chesterfield, Missouri on Sunday, December 21, 2025. Born in Caribou, Maine on May 30, 1971, Dig was always a “County Boy” at heart, no matter where his life took him. While he worked many different jobs, the one he loved most was being a Certified Nursing Assistant. It was the perfect match for his kindness and dedication to care for the elderly. Many of his former colleagues remember him with great fondness.
Dig had many friends, some who were able to interact with him face to face, and some that had never met him in person. He was the kind of person who was easy about the forms of friendship he had, anyone who disappeared due to life changes that came back, was welcomed with open arms and heart. His home was always open, and if you just happen to be passing through for the day, he’d make time for you the best he could.
As an avid gamer, he made friends with many people through nights of Dungeons & Dragons, LARPing, WoW, Diablo, Arc, and any game friends could talk him into. Dig was also a dedicated reader, loved Star Wars, Star Trek, and watching movies.
Most of all, he was a loving and beloved partner, brother, son, and uncle.
Dan was preceded by his mother Mary Freitag, his father Ronald McArdle, and many family members.
Dan is survived by his beloved partner Terri Baker (MO), sister Cynthia Soto (CT), brother-in-law Manny Soto (CT), nephew Jack Soto (CT), step-father John Freitag (CT), step-mother Cheryl McArdle (ME).
He will always be in our hearts.
