Darlene Marie Sorg, a cherished mother, grandmother, and devoted homemaker, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026. Born on June 11, 1937, in Union, Missouri, Darlene lived a life marked by kindness, intelligence, and a radiant personality that brought joy to all who knew her.

A graduate of Washington High School, Darlene held herself to the highest standards of neatness and integrity throughout her life. Known for her bubbly and vibrant nature, she was often the life of the party, beloved for her warmth and welcoming spirit. Her genuine acceptance of others and her thoughtful character made her a special presence among family and friends alike.

Darlene found joy in the simple pleasures of life, nurturing a profound love for the outdoors and gardening. She possessed a remarkable green thumb and took immense pride in maintaining her home and garden, ensuring everything was perfect. Her leisure time was often enjoyed playing games, especially cards and the occasional slot machine, reflecting her spirited and engaging nature.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald Sorg; two daughters, Darla (Jack) Johnson and Marla (James Pastor) Southern; three step-daughters, Kim (Brent) Hamilton, Shanna Sorg, and Anita Sorg; two grandchildren, David Southern and Christopher (Emily) Southern; and five step-grandchildren, Cory (Katie) Sorg, Kayleigh (Chance) Heid, Christian Sorg, Vivian Hamilton, and Rachel (Kaleb) Francis. Additionally, she leaves behind two great-grandchildren and four siblings: Shirley, Audrey, Donna, and Jim. Darlene was also cherished by a host of other family members and friends who will remember her fondly.

Darlene was preceded in death by her father, Elvin Herman Kreibaum; her mother, Viola Mae Kreibaum; and three siblings, John, Butch, and Gary.

A visitation to honor Darlene's memory will take place on June 24, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 837 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, St. Peters, Missouri. This gathering will offer an opportunity for all who knew her to pay their respects and celebrate a truly remarkable life.

Darlene Marie Sorg’s legacy is one of kindness, dignity, and lively spirit, and she will be deeply missed by all fortunate enough to have shared in her life.
