David Robert Carpenter, born on September 9, 1979, in St Louis, Missouri, passed peacefully in his sleep on October 22, 2024, in St. Peters, Missouri. A cherished member of his family and community, David's laughter and gentle spirit will be profoundly missed by all who had the fortune of knowing him.
David's heart was filled with a loving kindness that touched everyone he encountered. He had a unique propensity to make friends wherever he went, never having met a stranger. With his light-hearted and witty personality, he built relationships that were as loyal as they were genuine. His spirit of friendship resonated through his many interactions whether it was sharing memories over a baseball game or engaging in heartfelt conversations with loved ones.
David took great pride in being a father to his beloved children David M. Carpenter, Makenzie Rose Carpenter, Katelyne Carpenter, and Robert Carpenter. They were his proudest accomplishments, and he dedicated himself wholeheartedly to supporting their dreams and joys, instilling in them the same values of love and kindness that he embodied.
From early on, David found ebullience in the simple pleasures of life. He and his Nana Grandmother Dodge shared countless moments discussing baseball stats and celebrating their favorite team, the St. Louis Cardinals. This bond over baseball was a thread woven throughout his life, a connection to family tradition and shared passions.
In later adulthood, David rediscovered a love for fishing reminiscent of the cherished fishing trips he took with his Grandfather Dodge. More recently he insisted on including his Mother, her dog Xena and his sister Camalla who he fondly referred to as his "Sis" and "Little Mom". On these adventures he ensured that everyone—human and canine alike—could experience the thrill of fish darting in the water. These memories reflect his nurturing nature and his desire to create moments of merriment for his loved ones and friends.
He was the love of his mother's life, fondly embracing the title of "Mama's Boy" given to him by his sister Camalla. David spent many hours during the late nights and early mornings discussing a variety of topics with his mother who he adored.
David's culinary talents were as splendid as his personality; he was an excellent cook who found bliss in the art of culinary exploration. His kitchen was a place of warmth and laughter where meals were cooked with love and shared among family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved children David M. Carpenter, Makenzie Rose Carpenter, Katelyne Carpenter, and Robert Carpenter, his loving parents Shelia Dodge Ahrens and David Carpenter, his sister Camalla Condie, his stepdad Marty Ahrens and stepsiblings Jené and Benjamin Ahrens. David is now reunited with his beloved grandparents George Robert Dodge and Audrey Whitworth Dodge who will forever hold a special place in his heart.
