O'Fallon

David E. Davis, a cherished husband, father, and friend, passed away on May 13, 2025, at the age of 81. A lifelong resident of St. Louis, Missouri, David was born on June 13, 1943, to Carl and Laverne. He lived a fulfilling life dedicated to both his family and his profession.

David devoted over 32 years to his career at the General Motors St. Louis Plant until his well-earned retirement. His commitment to excellence was evident in every task he undertook, earning him the respect of colleagues and friends alike.

In addition to his professional life, David proudly served in the United States Army, where he received an Honorable Discharge. This service was an important achievement.

A man of varied interests, David was not only a sports fanatic but also an enthusiastic participant. He played baseball, football, and basketball during his school years, showcasing particular talent as the starting center in his senior year. His love for sports extended into his personal life where he enjoyed watching any sporting event that came on television. Beyond sports, he cherished the tranquility of fishing and had a deep appreciation for Corvettes. He also was known for his love of having things in ship shape, and in it's place.

Known for his soft-spoken nature, David was regarded as a great listener and a selfless individual who was always willing to lend a helping hand. His kindness and compassion left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him.

David's proudest accomplishments were found within his family. He was a wonderful husband to his wife, Mary Davis, and a phenomenal father to his two sons, Mark (Carrie) Davis and Edward Davis. He was also a beloved grandfather to his two grandchildren, Daisy Culbertson and Alexander Davis, and was the great-grandfather to Lemmy Fitzsimmons. David also leaves behind his sisters, Linda and Debbie, and is survived by a host of other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

David was preceded in death by his father, Carl Davis, and his mother, Laverne Kessler; and grandchild, Anna H. Davis.
