Deana Sue Kennedy, née Brown, passed away on July 12, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and devotion. Born on September 28, 1968, in St. Charles, Missouri, Deana was known for her joyful spirit, tender heart, and her unwavering commitment to her loved ones.

Deana attended Orchard Farm High School, laying the foundation for a life defined by hard work and compassion. She dedicated several years to working at various McDonald's locations, where her friendly demeanor and strong work ethic left a positive impact on colleagues and customers alike.

Devoted to her family, Deana spent nearly 22 wonderful years with her husband, Daniel Kennedy, creating a home filled with laughter and support. Together, they built a life centered on love, raising their children and embracing the joys of parenthood. Deana is survived by her husband Daniel; her daughter, Amber Obrecht; and her sons, Alan Obrecht, Jr. and Gavin Kennedy. She took immense pride in her grandchildren, Gabriel Sinkler and Autumn Sinkler, who were the light of her life. Deana is also survived by her mother, Sue Brown; brother, Richard Brown, Jr.; and her niece, Kristen Flood and her children: Lucas Flood, Ayla Flood, and Elora Flood.  She was predeceased by her father, Richard Brown, Sr.

Those who knew Deana recognized her bright smile and infectious laughter. She was always eager to help others, especially her family, and her selflessness left a lasting impression on all who crossed her path. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy, and she lavished them with care and affection.

Deana enjoyed a wide array of hobbies and interests. She enjoyed helping and volunteering her time running a class for children at her church.  She found delight in Disney shows and movies, frequently immersing herself in the magic and wonder they brought. She enjoyed solving puzzles and engaging in arts and crafts, channeling her creativity in everything she did. Hidden object games provided her with quiet moments of fun, and she cherished opportunities to help set up celebrations—whether birthdays or showers—for friends and family, making every event feel special.

An avid animal lover, Deana’s compassionate nature extended not only to people but to pets as well. This kindness was evident in how she treated all living beings, further endearing her to those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Deana Sue Kennedy’s legacy is one of kindness, laughter, and unwavering love for her family. She touched countless lives with her generosity and left behind cherished memories that will comfort her family and friends in the days to come.
