Dennis Alan Powell

Dennis Alan Powell passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on October 23, 2026, in Creve Coeur, Missouri. He was born on August 21, 1945, in Decatur, Illinois.

Dennis will be remembered as a funny, good-humored, and loving man whose greatest joys were found in the people he loved most. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, an achievement that reflected his intelligence and dedication. Beyond his work and studies, Dennis embraced life with enthusiasm. He loved to travel, sail, and ski, and he took special delight in time spent with his grandchildren, who brought him immense happiness.

Among the accomplishments he held most dear were his marriage to his beloved wife, April, of 60 years, and the family they built together. His children and grandchildren were a lasting source of pride and joy, and the love he shared with them shaped the heart of his life.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife, April Powell; his children, Steve Powell and Jennifer Driscoll and her husband, Peter; his cherished grandchildren, Anna Driscoll, Claire Driscoll, and Finn Driscoll; and his sister, Cheri Marquardt. He was preceded in death by his parents, Weldon and Gwendolyn Powell.

Dennis leaves behind a legacy of laughter, warmth, devotion, and love. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
