Dolores "Jean" Wilder, born on January 12, 1940, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2025. She was a devoted mother, and sister, loving grandmother, and a cherished friend to many. Her warm spirit and generosity touched the lives of all who knew her.
Jean found joy and fulfillment in her faith and drew inspiration from her love of nature, particularly in watching birds, a hobby that brought her immense happiness. She was a regular at her local Church, where she found community and solace, embodying the values of love and compassion that she carried throughout her life.
She is survived by her two granddaughters, Marissa (Tyler) Krueger and Mary Meives, as well as her sister, Linda (Larry) Sample. Jean also leaves behind a host of other family members and friends who will lovingly remember her kindness and laughter.
She was preceded in death by her father, Hobart Hurt; mother, Esther Hurt; husband, James Wilder; son, Timothy Wilder; and three brothers, James Hurt, William Hurt, and Troy Hurt. Their memories will forever remain a cherished part of her legacy.
Visitation will be held on June 13, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home, St. Peters, located at 837 Mid Rivers Mall Dr., St. Peters, MO, 63376. A funeral service will follow from 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will take place later that day at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, beginning at 1:00 PM, located at 2900 Sheridan Road, St. Louis, MO, 63125.
As we gather to honor and celebrate the life of Dolores "Jean" Wilder, let us remember the love she shared and the impact she made on each of us. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
