Listen to Obituary

Donald Joseph Boehmer, Sr., a beloved husband, father, and devoted community member, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026, in Chesterfield, Missouri, at the age of 89. Born on January 20, 1937, in St. Louis, Missouri, Donald lived a life marked by dedication, warmth, and a great love for his family and hometown.

Donald was a proud graduate of Beaumont High School and continued his education at Washington University, where he laid the foundations for a fulfilling career and enriching life. His service to his country in the United States Army stands as a testament to his commitment and honor, values that resonated throughout all he did.

For more than 20 years, Donald dedicated himself to a career at AT&T, earning respect and admiration from colleagues and friends alike until his retirement. Yet, above all professional accomplishments, Donald cherished his family the most, holding them as his greatest achievement and joy.

He was a man with a wonderful sense of humor and an easygoing nature, traits that made him beloved by all who knew him. Donald was an avid sports fan, especially passionate about St. Louis Cardinals baseball. His son fondly recalls the countless games they shared at the old Busch Stadium, along with other sporting events that created lasting bonds between them. Early memories also include visits to the airport to watch TWA planes take off and land, and family vacations out West filled with laughter and adventure.

Donald was also a dog lover, and cherished his three furry friends, Brownie, Annie, and Maggie.

Donald’s love for the outdoors was evident in his enthusiasm for hunting and fishing in his youth, and later in golfing sessions with his son—moments treasured, even when he was the one always winning. These shared experiences were more than hobbies; they were the threads that wove a rich tapestry of father-son connection. He was a wonderful father and provider for his family.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Elaine Boehmer, and his loving son, Donald Boehmer, Jr., who carry forward his legacy of kindness, strength, and laughter. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, William and Julia Boehmer, and his brother, William Boehmer, Jr.

The family will receive friends and loved ones for a visitation on June 23, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home in St. Peters, Missouri.
